The collection consists of materials from Kimball's tenure as literary executor of Paul Tillich's literary estate from 1959 to 1987. It includes correspondence, contract renewals, copies of some of Tillich's lectures, and several published and unpublished manuscripts by Hannah Tillich, Paul Tillich's wife.

Robert C. Kimball (1928-) was president of Starr King School for the Ministry from 1963-1983, and Dean from 1963-1997.
